issue = 争点、問題点

issueという単語はビジネスの世界でもよく使われますし、今回のオバマ大統領の演説では数えてみると４０回以上も出てきました。
私は「懸案事項」と訳す場合が多いのですが「問題点」と訳してピッタリくる場合も多いでしょう。
“critical issue”もよく使われる表現です。「重要問題」くらいに受け止めておきましょう。
では演説の中から（あまりにもたくさん使われているので）一部を見てみましょう。
